Executive Program Prepares Next Generation of Women Leaders

Registrations are now being accepted for the 2017-2018 Women’s Executive Leadership (WEL) program. An Executive Education offering from the Palumbo-Donahue School of Business, this distinctive program is designed for high-performing women seeking an opportunity to enhance their leadership skills and grow both professionally and personally.

This year’s program will feature a series of two-day training sessions held throughout a seven-month period. It begins with a three-day Kickoff Retreat from Wednesday, Sept. 27, through Friday, Sept. 29, at the Nemacolin Woodlands Resort.

This annual program, now in its 11th year, has a solid track-record of producing strong women leaders who drive growth, innovation and change for their organizations.

“Our graduates develop an enhanced confidence and self-awareness about their leadership abilities,” said Erinn Ummer, program manager for executive education in the business school. “Not only are participants introduced to evidence-based techniques and receive personalized guidance on actionable tools to become authentic and effective leaders, they also develop a support network of program alumni that they rely on throughout their careers.”

Elisabet Rodriguez Dennehy, author and internationally known consultant, and WEL co-creator Angela Arrington will serve as program instructors. The program includes five learning modules containing coursework, executive forums, one-on-one coaching and experiential activities on topics such as the global marketplace and negotiation skills.

Past participants at the WEL program have represented organizations such as the UPMC Health Plan, EQT, Westinghouse and Giant Eagle, among others.
