Eyewitness Identification Evidence the Focus of Upcoming Wecht Institute Session
The ethical ramifications of building a case based solely or primarily on testimonies from eyewitnesses will be the topic of discussion at the next instalment of the Ethics and Eats series at Duquesne.
Hosted by the Wecht Institute of Forensic Science and Law, Ethical Concerns in the Use of Eyewitness Identification Evidence will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 23, from 11 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. in the Power Center Ballroom.
The program will include a seminar and a mock-trial exercise, in which criminal defense attorney Michael Machen and Westmoreland County Assistant District Attorney Peter Caravello will examine experimental psychologist Dr. Jon Vallano. The Hon. Kevin Sasirski of the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas will preside.
The Ethics and Eats seminars are offered both on site and online. This program is designed to give attorneys the opportunity to meet their Continuing Legal Education (CLE) requirements during a convenient lunchtime session.
