Welcome Back to Exciting New Dining Options for Faculty and Staff
Duquesne Dining is excited to announce the new campus dining options and offerings for faculty and staff this fall semester.
“Dining Services is excited for faculty and staff to experience and enjoy the updated and new menu offerings,” said Scott Richards, executive director of Auxiliary Services. “We are especially pleased to announce exclusive breakfast and lunch hours for faculty and staff in the private dining room at the Hogan Dining Center. Overall, we think faculty and staff will be quite satisfied with the variety of dining options as well as the expanded vegetarian and restaurant-style vegan options.”
‘Have a Meal on Us’ at New Private Dining Room in Hogan Dining Center
This fall marks the opening of the new private faculty and staff dining room in the Rev. Sean Hogan Dining Center in Towers residence hall. This replaces the now-closed City View Café on the sixth floor of the Union, which is being renovated to accommodate an expanded Career Services.
Beginning this Monday, Aug. 21, faculty and staff are invited to enjoy a complimentary meal at the new private dining room at Hogan Dining Center through the Have a Meal on Us promotion, which runs through Friday, Oct. 6.
Faculty and staff can either stop by Room 333 of the Union or use an online sign-up form to select a preferred date and time for their complimentary meal. Three one-hour time slots will be available beginning at 11 a.m., Monday through Friday. A maximum of 50 reservations will be available per time slot hour, and the limit is one per guest only.
A confirmation and reminder will be emailed to faculty and staff that must be shown to the cashier upon entrance to the Hogan Dining Center. Groups of 10 or more can contact dining@duq.edu to block off a specific day and time.
Throughout the year, patrons can enjoy an all-you-can-eat lunch for just $7 ($2 savings) or check out the 11 stations with offerings such as create your own salads; noodle bar and deli; international cuisines; scratch-made pizza; burgers; and home-style favorites. Hogan Dining Center also offers restaurant-style vegan and vegetarian entrées at the V2 station and “Allergy Safe Zones” for guests with dietary restrictions.
The Hogan Dining Center’s private dining room is open from 7 to 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. to 1:45 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Red Ring to Feature New Salad Bar Special, Monthly Faculty/Staff Networking Happy Hours
The Red Ring Bar & Grille has been restructured and provides a second excellent dining option for faculty and staff on campus. Among some of the new amenities for faculty and staff are designated seating for a convenient and fast dining experience and a new salad bar available at a special price of $7.50. The Red Ring offers items seasonally with a variety of handcrafted burgers, mac and cheese, and sandwiches. New menu offerings include blackened salmon tacos, Southwest pulled chicken wrap and a Caprese sandwich.
The Red Ring Bar and Grille will provide networking opportunities through its new faculty and staff happy hour specials, which will be held every third Thursday of the month starting Sept. 21. These gatherings include a complimentary appetizer buffet with a drink purchase.

A New and Improved Starbucks
The newly renovated Starbucks features improved efficiencies that include an expanded hand-off area for beverages; additional blenders and ovens; more charging outlets; and upgraded technology capabilities to accept gift cards and the Starbucks Reward App.
New Dining Selections on the 5th Floor of Union
The new Chick-fil-A Express opens this fall, featuring a condensed menu with Chick-fil-A favorites such as various chicken sandwiches, chicken nuggets, wraps, waffle fries, and hand-spun milkshakes and fresh-squeezed lemonade.
Cinco Cantina, a Parkhurst Dining concept, will feature made-to-order burritos, burrito bowls, salads, queso, pork carnitas and more—all fresh and locally sourced. Offerings also include the “El Massivo” burrito as well as the vegan Trigo Latina. The Cantina has partnered with Stubborn Soda—a craft soda line featuring low-sugar, low-carb beverages—which offers specialty flavors like lemon berry acai and agave vanilla cream soda.
Chobani Yogurt Bars
While the Chobani Yogurt Bar on the 5th floor of the Union has been removed due to the Chick-fil-A and Cinco Cantina installation, other locations include The Incline on the first floor of the Union and the Rockwell Market on the ground level of Rockwell Hall.
