Women’s Guild Plans Cookbook to Celebrate 90th Anniversary

All campus cooks, bakers and even bread makers are invited to contribute their favorite recipes for inclusion in a new Women’s Guild 90th anniversary commemorative cookbook.

The book is set to be published this fall and will feature a wide range of recipes, including desserts, punches, soups, salads, snacks and main dishes.

“We all have a co-worker who brings in that one special dish that everyone loves and wants to know how to make,” said Bernadette Krueger, Women’s Guild president. “This is a great way to pull them all together. The cookbook will combine new favorites with family recipes that have been passed down for generations.”

The Women’s Guild hopes to collect more than 150 recipes from across campus. Each recipe in the book will include the contributor’s name, and the Guild encourages the inclusion of personal remarks and tips such as ‘great on a rainy day,’ ‘a family holiday favorite,’ or simply ‘freezes well.’

Each recipe should be saved as a Word document and emailed to duwomensguild@gmail.com by Wednesday, Sept. 6, for inclusion.

Proceeds from cookbook sales will benefit the Women’s Guild Endowed Scholarship for students in financial need and Spiritan Campus Ministry’s student mission trips.
