New Staff Advisory Council Provides Forum for Non-Faculty Employees

President Ken Gormley has announced the development of the Duquesne University Staff Advisory Council (DUSAC).

This new employee council, to be comprised of 13 University staff members representing all divisions, will be a forum to bring non-faculty employees’ concerns and other matters of interest to appropriate University officials. The inaugural council will be tasked with establishing a formal means of receiving input from staff employees campus wide.

“Staff members play a critical role in carrying out our mission, and I am hopeful that this new council will offer creative ideas for enhancing our service to students and the campus work environment, as well as bringing to light important issues affecting staff employees,” Gormley wrote in a campus email.

Staff members who are interested in serving on DUSAC are asked to contact their respective division vice president by Friday, Sept. 29. Council members will be named based upon recommendations of vice presidents and the chief human resources officer.

“I look forward to working with this new Council in the years ahead to continue building on Duquesne’s rich legacy and dynamic mission rooted in the Spiritan tradition,” said Gormley.
