Reminder: Register for Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Walk

There’s still time for all faculty, staff and students to register for the eighth annual Breast Cancer Awareness Walk and to honor breast cancer survivors as well as friends and family who have battled or are currently battling the disease.

Register by tomorrow, Thursday, Sept. 21, to receive a free commemorative t-shirt. Proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society. Cost is $20 for employees and $10 for students. Participants who sign up with someone who did not walk in last year’s event pay only $35 for both walkers.

Sponsored by Duquesne and the University’s Theta chapter of Delta Sigma Theta, Inc., the two-mile walk will start at noon on Wednesday, Oct. 11, on Academic Walk near the Union.

As part of the walk, participants will be able to purchase raffle tickets, and vendors will be selling various items to benefit the cause.

To register, participants can either:

• Download the registration form in advance return the completed form to Room 315 (Office of Greek Life) of the Union with the registration fee
• Visit Room 315 in the Union to fill out a registration form and pay in person
• Or, register on the day of the event starting at 11 a.m. on Academic Walk outside the Union.
