  • Duquesne University, $50,000, from Comcast, to support network upgrades.
  • Dr. Patricia Kelley, professor of nursing, School of Nursing, $55,887, from The Geneva Foundation, for Global Health Engagement Missions: Lessons Learned Aboard U.S. Naval Hospital Ships.
  • Dr. Melissa Boston, associate professor, and Dr. Carole Parke, associate professor, School of Education, $107,033, from the National Science Foundation’s grant to the Educational Development Center, for Designing for Equity by Thinking In and About Mathematics.
  • Dr. Ellen Gawalt, chair and professor of chemistry and biochemistry, BSNES, and Dr. Wilson Meng, associate professor of pharmaceutics, School of Pharmacy, a $64,501 Commonwealth Universal Research Enhancement (C.U.R.E) grant, for Site-Directed Delivery of Ticagrelor as Anti-Platelet Therapy in Vascular Environment.
  • Dr. John Pollock, professor and co-director of the Chronic Pain Research Consortium, BSNES, and Dr. Jelena Janjic, associate professor of pharmaceutics, School of Pharmacy, a $64,501 C.U.R.E. grant for Investigation of the Molecular Basis of Neuroinflammatory Pain Associated with Cancer and Cancer Therapy.
  • The DU Cares Program, $20,000, from the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board, for programs to reduce and eliminate underage and dangerous drinking. Dr. Daniel Gittins, associate director for alcohol and drug education, will be the project director.
