Win a Starbucks a Day for a Year: Donate to the United Way

Faculty and staff who make a United Way donation or pledge of at least $52 through payroll deduction by Wednesday, Nov. 29, will have a chance to win a daily grande cup of brewed Starbucks coffee from the Duquesne Union for a year.

Employees who have given less than $52 can still qualify for the raffle by making another gift or pledge through the system. All contributions to the campaign, no matter the amount, support the dozens of worthy programs that address the various needs of local communities.

Each year, the campus community demonstrates its generosity and supports the United Way campaign through various raffles and events. This year, employees can sponsor a Night of Lights Christmas Tree or Santa’s Workshop as part of the annual event hosted by the Student Government Association. Forms are available online. Proceeds benefit the Pittsburgh chapter of Autism Speaks, a United Way agency.

To date, the campaign has reached nearly 75 percent of its $108,000 monetary goal. While Duquesne is ahead in participation levels as compared to this time last year, it is still shy of its campaign target of 35 leadership donors.

Payroll deductions for the campuswide campaign will be accepted online until Wednesday, Nov. 29. Employees who need assistance making a second pledge or donation can contact Denise Scuilli at 412.396.6063.
