Grants Received
Funds totaling $299,505 were recently received by the School of Pharmacy, the Bayer School of Natural and Environmental Sciences (BSNES) and the Small Business Development Center (SBDC).
- Dr. Jamie McConaha, associate professor of pharmacy practice, School of Pharmacy, $4,000, from the Pennsylvania Department of Health, passed through Tobacco Free Allegheny, Inc., to support smoking cessation classes.
- Dr. Wook Kim, assistant professor of biological sciences, BSNES, $60,000, from L’Oreal, passed through the University of Oxford, for Possible Tool to Test and Develop Anti-Dandruff Technology.
- Dr. Stephanie Wetzel, assistant professor of chemistry and biochemistry, $7,000, from the Pittsburgh Conference on Analytical Chemistry and Applied Spectroscopy, to purchase lab supplies and equipment.
- SBDC, $228,505, from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, for the Southwestern Region PREP program. Dr. Mary McKinney, director of the SBDC, will administer the award.
