Funds totaling $259,023 were recently received by the Bayer School of Natural and Environmental Sciences (BSNES) and the Biomedical Engineering Program.

  • Dr. Benedict Kolber, assistant professor of biological sciences, BSNES, a $6,375 Pain Research Challenge Grant, from the University of Pittsburgh’s Clinical and Translational Science Institute, funded by the Virginia Kaufman Endowment Fund.
  • Dr. John Viator, director of the biomedical engineering program, $252,648, from the National Institutes of Health National Cancer Institute, for Photoacoustic Detection, Capture and Analysis of Circulating Melanoma Cells.
