Carnival 2014: Come Enjoy “A Night at the Cinema”

It is that time of the year, Carnival is almost here! An annual Duquesne tradition, Carnival is a charity event that has something for people of all ages to enjoy. On Oct. 17, 2014, the Duquesne Greeks invite you to make this part of your tradition at Duquesne as well. The doors of the Union Ballroom will open at 5:30 p.m. and the show begins at 6 p.m. Cost is $5. For those of you who do not know, our social fraternities and sororities and our professional organizations have been randomly paired and have been tasked with writing a script, casting roles and practicing day after day in the hopes of winning 1st place for the best show. This year, the Greeks have decided to add a special twist — a theme. All shows will be related to the 2014 theme “A Night at the Cinema.” There will be booths set up as well, run by various groups, selling popcorn, lemonade, hot cocoa, candy and more. All proceeds will benefit a charitable cause that will be voted on by our community at the end of September. Stay tuned to learn where we will be donating our proceeds.
