On Feb. 1, 2015, approximately 250 new members in the Greek community came together for our Greek 101 event. This is an event that is held every semester especially for the new members. Greek 101 is focused on introducing the new members to what it means to be Greek from the simplest things like where the office is located or how to find forms on CampusLink, to the most important things like how to identify hazing and how to report such incidences. This year, Greek 101 had a “town hall meeting,” a special portion of the event that was open to all Greeks. Representatives from Public Safety, Commuter Affairs, Pittsburgh Action Against Rape and the South Side Community, as well as the Greek Life Office, sat on a panel. Greeks were allowed to ask any questions they wanted as a way to build relationships between all of these crucial entities as a means of keeping our students safe and making good choices both on and off campus.
