On Friday, Dec. 12, 2014, the Office of Residence Life and DU CARES once again sponsor The Original Campus Study Break in the Hogan Dining Center. This event, which students and staff have come to excitedly anticipate, includes an evening of fun and festivities, where members of Duquesne’s staff and faculty continue the mission of “Serving God by Serving Students” in a very immediate way. The menu for this semester’s event includes breakfast foods prepared by Parkhurst, and served to students by our faculty and staff volunteers. Also in the evening of festivities there will be chair massages, a major game of BINGO, a Christmas Photo Booth, Root Beer Floats, a few craft activities and door prizes. Students will line up in advance to enter this event that runs from 9 p.m. until midnight. While some of the students choose to eat and run, most prefer to stay the entire time and interact with friends, and mingle with faculty and staff members in a casual, relaxed, fun and festive atmosphere. This event attracts an average of 1,100 students in the 3-hour period during the fall semester.
