Put Faith Into Action at the Libermann Luncheon

Employees can learn about hunger and contribute to a solution during a service project at the next Libermann Luncheon.

For a service project in February, employees helped create blankets for new mothers in West Virginia.

The lunch, scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 16, at noon in the Africa Room, will provide employees the opportunity to participate in an outreach project with Spiritan Campus Ministry. After a quick meal, attendees will create food baskets and care packages for low-income, elderly residents of Ormsby Manor in Mt. Oliver.

“We need volunteers to pack food bags and write out greeting tags,” said Luci-Jo DiMaggio, assistant director of Spiritan Campus Ministry. “If you are creative, we need you to craft the holiday decorations that we will enclose in each care package.”

In addition, Dora Walmsley from the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank will speak about how hunger is affecting our region.

To attend, RSVP by Monday, Nov. 14, at caloriem@duq.edu.
