New Wellness Programs Offer Range of Fitness Opportunities

This October, the Wellness in Motion initiative will offer a wide range of fitness and wellness opportunities in the Power Center to help faculty and staff improve their physical and financial wellness.

The month begins on Tuesday, Oct. 1, at 12:10 p.m. with a Fitness Equipment Orientation. Participants will learn how to properly set up gym equipment to suit their individual needs. Workout clothes will not be necessary as this is only an overview of the fitness equipment. To register, email Amber Lasure.

TIAA-CREF will conduct a financial education lunch and learn geared toward women at noon on Wednesday, Oct. 2, in Room 205 of the Power Center. The session, Charting Your Course: A Financial Guide for Women, will address tips, tactics and solutions that help women prepare for a more secure financial future. Employees, who can bring a bag lunch, are asked to register in Training Tracker for the session.

An employee-only Fall Fitness Circuit will also begin on Oct. 2. Registered participants will meet at 5 p.m. and enjoy a variety of group activities tailored to their fitness levels. Classes include PiYo, spinning, turbokick and dance fit. Pre-registration and advance payment of $20 is required. Contact Lisa Yakelis in the benefits office or call 412.396.5105 to register.

Employees can track their Wellness activities in a Wellness in Motion log and compete for gift card drawings. Learn more at Wellness in Motion in DORI.
