Support United Way Day at Dukes Men’s Basketball Home Game

Duquesne employees, friends and family can support the United Way and cheer on the Dukes when they take on the Abilene Christian Wildcats at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9, at the A.J. Palumbo Center. For each ticket sold, five dollars will go to the University’s annual United Way Campaign.

A free, family-friendly, pre-game event will be held in the main gym from noon to 1:30 p.m. for all ticket holders. Participants will enjoy music, a corn-hole toss, face painting, a Duquesne mascot appearance and more.

“The athletics department is thrilled to be able to support the University’s United Way Campaign,” said Nicole Bucholtz, assistant director of marketing and promotions for athletics. “We hope to make this an annual tipoff event for our basketball season as well as a final push for our fundraising goals as a campaign. We hope to see tons of faculty and staff on Nov. 9!”

This year’s United Way Campaign goals include raising $85,000 through 35 percent participation.

Tickets for the game, which are specially priced at $13 a piece or $15 with a food and drink voucher, are available for purchase online.
