Faculty & Staff Spotlight

Rebecca Jamrozik Mickler, director of Greek life, received the Philippi Outstanding Advisor award at the Northeast Greek Leadership Association conference on March 1. The award recognizes a Greek affairs professional who has made significant contributions to the Greek community within the Northeastern region by advising any governing council.

David Nolfi, health sciences librarian and library assessment coordinator at Gumberg Library, has recently been named a distinguished member of the Academy of Health Information Professionals for a second five-year appointment. The organization recognizes members based upon their academic preparation, professional experience, and the personal investment of time and effort required for exemplary performance. Distinguished member is the group’s highest level of membership.

Dr. Jill A. Perry, a research faculty member in the School of Education’s Department of Educational Leadership and Foundations, has been named the executive director of The Carnegie Project on the Education Doctorate (CPED). This initiative, involving several colleges and schools of education, works toward instituting a distinction between the professional practice doctorate in education (Ed.D) and the education research doctorate (Ph.D). Perry also recently was named to the Research & Innovation Advisory Board of the International Higher Education Teaching and Learning Association.

Donna Steed, assistant director of human resources-benefits, has been appointed president of the Pittsburgh Business Group on Health Board (PBGH). Steed, who also serves on PBGH’s membership committee, will approve work plans and budget, review proposals and oversee the group purchasing arm as part of her new role. A longtime member of the board, Steed has served on the financial committee and as board secretary.
