Know Your Numbers Campaign Returns

The Know Your Numbers campaign—a wellness program that awards staff and faculty who participate in various wellness initiatives—is back and runs through Wednesday, Dec. 31.

Open to all employees enrolled in a University medical plan, the program requires participants to complete an online wellness profile and a general health screening. Employees who complete both before Friday, Sept. 17, will receive a $250 reward in the pay of Friday, Oct. 17. Those who complete the requirements between Saturday, Sept. 18 and Wednesday, Dec. 31, will receive the $250 reward in the pay of Feb. 6, 2015.

Employees can access the online wellness profile on their medical provider’s website. The survey takes just 15 minutes to complete, and employees receive a personalized health report. Additional health indicators, such as blood pressure, blood sugar level, total cholesterol and body mass index (BMI) are identified through a general health screening performed by either a personal physician or staff at Duquesne’s Center for Pharmacy Care.

According to Donna Steed, assistant director of human resources-benefits, the only way an employee can know whether his/her numbers are good is to measure them. “Employees gain a greater understanding of their health and, when necessary, are counseled on how to make beneficial changes,” said Steed.

All information from the wellness profile and health screening are confidential; the benefits office only receives notification of completed profiles and screening.

Additional information and Know Your Numbers instructions are available on the benefits office website. To schedule a free screening, contact the Center for Pharmacy Care at 412.396.2155.
