Annual FAST Program Welcomes New Students and Families to Campus

The University’s Freshman Advisement Summer Transition (FAST) program, designed to help new students and their families smoothly transition to life at Duquesne, will be held from Tuesday, July 8, through Friday, July 11, on campus. More than 2,000 students and families participated in last year’s program.

Through FAST—which is an optional program—liberal arts, music, nursing and pharmacy students are invited to visit campus on July 8 or 10. Biomedical engineering, business, education, health sciences and natural and environmental sciences majors are invited to spend the day on campus on July 9 or 11.

FAST provides incoming freshmen the opportunity to:

  • Meet academic advisors
  • Learn about student support services
  • Have a student ID photo taken
  • Set up a student bank account
  • Order or purchase books and a computer
  • Connect with future classmates.

New this year is the FAST mobile site, www.duq.edu/fastmobile, which enables visitors to easily check the program’s schedule, view a campus map and review other helpful resources.
