Leadership Breakfast to Focus on Women in the Workplace

The Leadership Breakfast on Tuesday, Aug. 12, will focus on recruiting, retaining and inspiring professional women.

The event, an installment of the ongoing Leadership Breakfast Series sponsored by the School of Leadership and Professional Advancement, will be held in the Power Center Ballroom from 8 to 10 a.m. Breakfast will be served at 7:30 a.m.

The panel discussion, Empowering Your Team: Recruiting, Retaining and Inspiring Women in the Workplace, will treat topics that promise to be beneficial to both men and women. Subjects to be discussed include:

  • The changing workplace environment
  • Building awareness of generational differences
  • Self-empowerment for women
  • The importance of networking and continuing education.

Beth Caldwell of the Pittsburgh Professional Women organization will serve as moderator. Panelist will be Jennifer Susco, USB Financial Service; Wende V. Torbert, UPMC; Dr. Darlene F. Zellers, University of Pittsburgh; and certified financial planner Lori A. Brinker, Merrill Lynch.

Advance registration is required; campus employees may register through Training Tracker. The fee for this event, including continental breakfast and handouts, is $25 for University employees.
