- Dr. Carla Meyer, School of Education, $57,174, a subcontract from the Alleghany County School System in Sparta, N.C., as part of a U.S. Department of Education Grant awarded to Dr. Patti Cox, Alleghany County Schools, for Cradle to Career Innovative Literacy Program.
- Dr. Suzanne Higginbotham, School of Pharmacy, $10,000, from the American Medical Association Foundation, for Healthy America Healthy People Program.
- Dr. Fran Serenka, School of Education, $3,500, from the II-VI Foundation, for the 2014 Calcu-Solve Super Bowl.
