- Dr. Aleem Gangjee, professor of medicinal chemistry, Mylan School of Pharmacy, $188,676, on a subcontract from Wayne State University on a grant from the National Institutes of Health, National Cancer Institute for Discovery of Novel PCFT Targeted Agents. This is Year 5 of the award.
- Dr. John Viator, director of the Biomedical Engineering Program, $267,441, from the National Institutes of Health, National Cancer Institute for Photoacoustic Detection, Capture and Analysis of Circulating Melanoma Cells. This is Year 2 of the award.
