  • Dr. Prahlad G. Menon, assistant professor of biomedical engineering, $16,729, from the National Institutes of Health’s National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, through the University of Texas at San Antonio, for Geometric Surrogates for Clinical Management of Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms. Also, a $10,000, Faculty Development Fund, for 3D Printing as a Pre-surgical Planning Tool for Personalized Therapy. This award extends through April 30, 2018.
  • Dr. John Viator, director, biomedical engineering, $25,000, from the U.S. Department of Defense Office of Economic Adjustment, through Innovations Works Inc., to implement the Technology Commercialization Consortium program to foster commercialization of university research in collaboration with Carnegie Mellon University, the University of Pittsburgh and Innovation Works.
  • Dr. Theodore Corcovilos, assistant professor of physics in the Bayer School, $25,000, from the U.S. Department of Defense Office of Economic Adjustment, through Innovations Works Inc., to implement the Technology Commercialization Consortium program to foster commercialization of university research in collaboration with Carnegie Mellon University, the University of Pittsburgh and Innovation Works.
