Gumberg Library will host a brief reception to celebrate the gift of a new religious history book to its collection on Tuesday, May 24, at 3 p.m.
The book, Christian Heritage of Kosovo and Metohija, was donated by His Grace Bishop Maxim of the Western American Diocese Serbian Orthodox Church from California. Representatives from the Serb National Federation as well as Dr. James Swindal, dean of the McAnulty College and Graduate School of Liberal Arts, will attend.
The book, according to publisher Sebastian Press, “is intended to introduce to a wide reading public to the oldest and richest treasury of Serbian medieval history and culture.”
The hope is to foster positive discussion about the Serbo-Albanian relationship and what unites these ethnic groups.
