Duquesne Hosts Winter Commencement, Awards Honorary Degree

President Ken Gormley participated in his first Commencement ceremony as president on Dec. 16, during which he conferred degrees upon approximately 460 Duquesne students.

In addition, Gormley presented a local, 100-year-old former Duquesne student with an honorary degree. Leo Plunkett attended the University from 1934-1937, but had to quit school to take on more work in the aftermath of the Great Depression.
