Upcoming Libermann Luncheon Provides a Look at ‘A Wider Ecumenism’

In anticipation of Christian Unity Week, visiting Spiritan Scholar in Residence the Rev. Bill Cleary, C.S.Sp., will present A Wider Ecumenism at the next Libermann Luncheon.

According to Cleary, “wider ecumenism” aspires to unite all people as one human family by acknowledging one world with one God. “Spiritans recognize divisions between Christians as a stumbling block to proclaiming a gospel of universal togetherness,” he said. “The energy of the great world religions needs to be harnessed to ensure peace among the peoples and care for the one world we all call ‘home.’”

Hosted by Spiritan Campus Ministry, the luncheon will be held at noon on Tuesday, Jan. 17. To RSVP, email caloriem@duq.edu or call 412.396.6020 by this Friday, Jan. 13.

University Archivist Tom White will be the featured speaker at the next Libermann Luncheon on Monday, Jan. 30.
