Career Services Center Gets New Name and Space

Beginning in January 2018, students and staff will find a newly renovated space and name for the Career Services Center. The renamed Center for Career Development will launch from its new space on the sixth floor of the Duquesne Union.

Construction begins this month, and the design of the new space features a large, open and welcoming reception and career resource area for students and employer guests.

“The staff of Career Services is excited about the upcoming move to the Duquesne Union,” said Career Services Director Nicole Feldhues. “The new location in the heart of campus will allow us to provide increased accessibility to the students we serve.

According to Feldhues, the new Center for Career Development means more than just a new enhanced physical space. “It also signals a focus on career development as central to the Duquesne Mission, thereby creating a career-focused community where we intentionally prepare students not just for that first job after college, but for a lifetime of career and professional success,” Feldhues said.

The new center will include an enhanced interview suite to host employers participating in the On-Campus Interview Program. The suite will feature four dedicated interview rooms and a waiting and reception area to facilitate interaction between students and employers. It also will accommodate the growth of the center’s Employer Mock Interview Program.
