Employees Can Host International Students for Home-Cooked Meal Through ‘20 Dinners’ Program

The Office of International Programs (OIP) has announced that another round of 20 Dinners will be held during the week of Monday, Nov. 13, through Saturday, Nov. 18.

The OIP established 20 Dinners to organize 20 in-home dinners for Duquesne international students hosted by University faculty and staff each semester, allowing for ongoing connections between staff and these students. Faculty and staff who would like to participate should respond online by this Friday, Nov. 3.

The 20 Dinners initiative is a way to show the international students hospitality and gives them the opportunity to get to know faculty and staff on a more personal level, while seeing what life is like in an American home.

Participants are asked to host international students for one meal (or more if they choose) during the dates indicated. The OIP also will coordinate for faculty and staff members who would like to host international students for Thanksgiving dinner.

Faculty and staff who would like to host in the future are asked to contact Rachael English at 412.396.6113.
