Funds totaling $179,125 were recently received by the School of Pharmacy, the Center for Catholic Faith and Culture, and the Small Business Development Center (SBDC).

  • Dr. Jennifer Elliott, associate professor of pharmacy practice, School of Pharmacy, $75,000, from the Jefferson Regional Foundation, for Sustainability of Surveillance and Treatment of Asthma in Clairton’s Schoolchildren.
  • Deepika Rao, a student of Dr. Vince Giannetti, professor of pharmacy administration, School of Pharmacy, $1,125, from the College of Psychiatric and Neurologic Pharmacists Foundation, for Community Pharmacist and Substance Abuse Disorders: Attitudes, Knowledge and Practices.
  • Dr. Darlene Weaver, director of the Center for Catholic Faith and Culture, $100,000, from the Henry Luce Foundation, for Catholicism and the Common Good.
  • Dr. Mary McKinney, director of the SBDC, $3,000, from the AARP Foundation, to support the Work for Yourself @ 50+ program. The program educates low-income adults age 50+ on the pros and cons of self-employment and provides them with the early steps they need to be successful.
