Grants Received

Funds totaling $4,045,680 have recently been received by Duquesne University, the School of Education, the School of Pharmacy, the Mary Pappert School of Music and the Rangos School of Health Sciences.

  • Duquesne University, $4,000,000, from the Richard King Mellon Foundation, to support Rockwell Hall renovations. Mark Minoski, director of design and construction, and Joyce Raught, assistant vice president of corporate and foundation relations, will administer the award.
  • Dr. Franny Jo Serenka, director of school administration and supervision, School of Education, $30,000, from DREAM Partnership, to support the development of an inclusive post-secondary education program for individuals with intellectual disabilities.
  • Dr. Devika Soundara Manickam, assistant professor of pharmaceutical sciences, School of Pharmacy, a $6,298 Faculty Development Fund award, for Novel Nanocarriers for BDNF Gene Delivery to Treat Stroke.
  • Dr. Caron Daley, School of Music, and Dr. Heather Leavy Rusiewicz, Rangos School of Health Sciences, a $9,382 Faculty Development Fund award, for The Impact of Hand Gestures on Technical and Artistic Performance in Higher Education-based Vocal Training.
