CETR to Celebrate Community Partners, Growing Number of University Volunteers

To celebrate the increasing number of faculty, staff and students participating in projects to better the community, the Center for Community-Engaged Teaching and Research (CETR) will host an open house on Tuesday, May 1, from 1 to 4 p.m. at 20 Chatham Square and its adjacent parking lot.

“Community engagement is a strategic priority, and we are seeing more members of the Duquesne family working to better the region in a variety of ways,” said CETR Director Dr. Jessica Mann, noting that each Duquesne school is involved in outreach and research activities.

The open house event will honor Duquesne’s community partners and neighbors; feature artists and musical entertainers; food from Parkhurst and local chefs; and will offer information about upcoming programming, initiatives and community events.

The event is free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to RSVP.
