Duquesne Experts Featured in Regional, National News Outlets in Month of April

Did you know that more than 150 news outlets recently published a release about Associate Pharmaceutical Science Professor Dr. Jelena Janjic’s newly developed inflammatory pain nanomedicine, which could decrease the usage of opioids? Or that more than 90 news outlets published a release in which Duquesne is listed among Top Management Degree’s ranking of the Top 50 Online Master’s in Sports Management Programs?

In the month of April, Duquesne faculty and staff were featured in 337 stories in media outlets such as the Chicago Tribune, Forbes, Los Angeles Times and Globe and Mail, among others.

Some topics addressed by faculty and staff experts included:

  • President Donald Trump’s opposition to Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election (President Ken Gormley)
  • A play-based study that seeks to help developmentally delayed babies reach important milestones (Dr. Regina Harbourne, assistant professor of physical therapy)
  • Landslides in western Pennsylvania (Dr. Philip Reeder, dean and professor in the Bayer School of Natural and Environmental Sciences)
  • Threats to the ocelot population (Dr. Jan Janecka, assistant professor of biological sciences)
  • How Duquesne students are helping to integrate refugee children into Pittsburgh society (Dr. Jennie Schulze)
  • Types of therapies to help patients who have trouble swallowing (Caterina Staltari, director of clinical education for the Department of Speech-Language Pathology).
