Grants Received

Funds totaling $43,116 were recently received by the Biomedical Engineering Program and the City Music Center.

  • Dr. John Viator, director of the Biomedical Engineering Program, $28,073, from the National Institutes of Health’s National Cancer Institute, for Photoacoustic Detection, Capture and Analysis of Circulating Melanoma Cells.
  • City Music Center, $15,043, from the Anna L. and Benjamin Perlow fund of the Pittsburgh Foundation, to support student scholarships in the Mary Pappert School of Music under the direction of the City Music Center. Dr. Thomas Carsecka, director of the City Music Center, will administer the award.
