Grants Received

Funds totaling $38,060 were recently received by the School of Pharmacy, the School of Education and Gumberg Library.

  • Suzanne Higginbotham, director of the Duquesne University Pharmacy and Center for Pharmacy Care, School of Pharmacy, $4,500, from the Portiuncula Foundation, to support the Duquesne Center for Pharmacy Care: Community Outreach Initiative.
  • Jason Margolis, chair and professor of instruction and leadership, School of Education, $17,250, from the Nellie Mae Educational Foundation passed through the University of Pennsylvania, for a study of promising teacher leadership programs around the United States, with special attention to those promoting student-centered instruction.
  • Dr. Marcia Rapchak, head of teaching and learning, and Cathryn Miller, social sciences librarian, Gumberg Library, $16,310, from Lyrasis, to create and host a Quantitative Research Institute for Libraries to prepare librarians and library staff for the quantitative research required to best serve students.
