The University’s new Wellness in Motion program is offering $150 in wellness dollars to eligible employees who complete an online health assessment before Sunday, Sept. 30, and $100 in wellness dollars to those who complete it after the deadline.
Eligible employees and their spouses who are enrolled in a University-sponsored medical plan may participate. Each can earn up to $300 in wellness dollars during the 2018-2019 benefits plan year by engaging in healthy activities. Dollars earned can be applied to out-of-pocket medical costs, such as deductibles and coinsurance.
According to Donna Steed, director of human resources-benefits, the online assessment and other activities are simple to complete. “Many have already received $300 in wellness dollars,” Steed said. “We encourage eligible employees to visit the benefits website today and learn how they too can earn their wellness dollars.”
While the University offers one Wellness in Motion program, both medical plans also offer customized online wellness platforms: Cigna’s MotivateMe platform and UPMC Health Plan’s HealthyU platform. Employees must create a profile on their medical provider’s member portal in order to view the complete Wellness in Motion activities list, monitor their progress and track wellness dollars.
