University to Kick Off Academic Year with Mass of the Holy Spirit
Faculty, staff and students of all faiths are invited to celebrate the beginning of the 2018-2019 academic year by attending the annual Mass of the Holy Spirit this weekend.
Mass will be held on Sunday, Aug. 26, at 11 a.m. in the A.J. Palumbo Center. The Most Rev. David A. Zubik, D.D., bishop of the Diocese of Pittsburgh, will concelebrate the Mass with the Very Rev. Jeffrey T. Duaime, C.S.Sp., provincial superior for the Congregation of the Holy Spirit of the United States, and fellow Spiritans.
The Mass of the Holy Spirit remains one of Duquesne’s largest liturgies, drawing more than 2,000 attendees each year.
A boxed lunch will be served on Academic Walk immediately following Mass. Attendees are asked to RSVP in advance for both Mass and lunch.
