Pharmacy Students to Receive White Coats, Marking First Year of Professional Study
Two hundred third-year pharmacy students will participate in the 16th annual School of Pharmacy White Coat Ceremony this weekend.
The ceremony, which marks students’ entrance into their first year of professional study as pharmacists, will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 26, in the A.J. Palumbo Center. In addition to being presented with the white coats they will wear during their laboratory and experiential education, the students will each receive a School of Pharmacy pin and recite a pledge of professionalism during the ceremony.
Laura Mark, vice president of pharmacy at the Allegheny Health Network and a 1996 graduate of the School of Pharmacy, will deliver the keynote address.
