Celebrate the Feast Day of Jacques Laval with Waffles on Academic Walk
Free waffles will be served to celebrate the feast day of Blessed Fr. Jacques-Desiré Laval, C.S.Sp., on Friday, Sept. 7, at 10 a.m. in front of Laval House on Academic Walk.
Born in 1803 in France, Laval is remembered as the first member of the Congregation of the Holy Spirit to be declared blessed by a pontiff. A medical doctor, Laval served as a missionary for 23 years evangelizing to the marginalized people on the island of Mauritius in the Indian Ocean. Laval passed away on Sept. 9, 1864.
