66th Annual Law Alumni Reunion Dinner to Honor Graduates

More than 300 graduates, faculty and guests are expected to attend the 66th annual Law Alumni Reunion Dinner, scheduled for Friday, Oct. 19, in the Power Center’s Charles J. Dougherty Ballroom. 

Hosted by the School of Law and the Duquesne Law Alumni Association, the awards ceremony, which begins at 5 p.m., will honor graduates Robert G. Del Greco, Jr., Shanicka L. Kennedy and Kenneth P. Davie.

Del Greco, a 1981 law graduate, will receive the Distinguished Alumnus Award. He is a shareholder of Dickie, McCamey & Chilcote, P.C., and chair of the firm’s criminal defense group. Del Greco concentrates his practice in the areas of criminal and civil defense. His law career spans more than 35 years and includes many high-profile cases. He has represented athletes and coaches from several professional teams including the Pittsburgh Steelers, Chicago Cubs, Cleveland Browns, New England Patriots and New York Yankees.

Shanicka L. Kennedy
Shanicka L. Kennedy

Kennedy, a 2001 graduate, will receive the Outstanding Achievement Award. An assistant United States attorney, she currently is assigned to the narcotics and organized crime section of the United States Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Pennsylvania. Kennedy prosecutes significant federal criminal cases involving Title III wiretap investigations, narcotics trafficking, child exploitation, human trafficking and violent crimes. She also represents the office in the BRIDGES pre-sentence court and participates as a team member of the Reintegration Into Society Efforts (RISE) court program.

A 1973 graduate, Davie will receive the Dr. John E. Murray, Jr., Meritorious Service Award. After a stint in the United States Army, he attended the law school, where he was an appellate moot winner and elected to the Order of the Barristers. After working for a criminal defense firm in Jersey City, Davie started the partnership of Cifelli and Davie in Harrison, N.J., now in its 40th year. Admitted to both the New Jersey and New York bars, Davie has been assistant town attorney for Kearny, N.J., for 33 years and has held various municipal positions throughout the New York-New Jersey metropolitan area. He served as a member of the New Jersey State Bar Judiciary Appointments Committee for 25 years, president of his local bar association and has judged the New Jersey high school moot court competition.
