Campus Prepares for Annual Family Weekend

Parents, siblings and other family members of Duquesne students will visit campus for the University’s annual Family Weekend.

Sponsored by the Office of Freshman Development, Family Weekend will be held from Friday, Oct. 19, to Sunday, Oct. 21. It will feature a variety of activities that will give students’ relatives the opportunity to interact with faculty, staff and other Duquesne families.

Highlights of the weekend include:

Friday, Oct. 19

  • Dancing with the Dukes, 7 p.m. (doors open at 6:30 p.m.), Union Ballroom, $5 admission
  • Family Jam, 6 to 8 p.m., the Red Ring Restaurant
  • Women’s volleyball vs. George Mason, 9 p.m., A.J. Palumbo Center.

Saturday, Oct. 20

  • Academic open houses, 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., various schools
  • Inflatable games, 1 to 3 p.m., Academic Walk
  • The 68th annual Carnival hosted by the Office of Greek Life, 6 p.m. (doors open at 5 p.m.), Union Ballroom, $5 admission
  • Men’s soccer vs. Rhode Island, 7 p.m., Rooney Field.

Sunday, Oct. 21

  • Mass, 9 a.m., University chapel
  • Women’s soccer vs. Fordham, 1 p.m., Rooney Field.
