Grants Received

Funds totaling $124,739 were recently received by the Bayer School of Natural and Environmental Sciences (BSNES), the School of Pharmacy, the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and the City Music Center.

  • Benedict Kolber, Michael Cascio and Rita Mihailescu, BSNES, and Dr. Kevin Tidgewell, School of Pharmacy, $107,999, from the National Institutes of Health, for Pain and Neurodegenerative Undergraduate Research Experiences: Interacting With Community Partners to Build Specialized and Enhanced Neurologic Disease Programs for Undergraduates.
  • SBDC, $6,740, from the Small Business Administration passed through Kutztown University. Dr. Mary McKinney, director of the SBDC, will administer the award.
  • Thomas Carsecka, executive director of the City Music Center, $10,000, from the Pittsburgh Foundation’s McSwigan Family Foundation Fund, to support scholarships for children in the Classical Studies program, which provides weekly private lessons, music theory classes and formal recitals for the 2019-2020 academic year.
