Funds totaling $87,986 were recently received by the Rangos School of Health Sciences, the School of Education and the School of Pharmacy.

  • Gregory Marchetti, associate professor of physical therapy, Rangos School of Health Sciences, $12,986, from the U.S. Army passed through the University of Pittsburgh, for Effectiveness of a Vestibular Ocular Motor Screening (VOMS) Tool for Identifying mTBI and Tracking Recovery in Military Personnel.
  • Gretchen Generett, associate professor of education, and Dr. Amy Olson, assistant professor of education, School of Education, $5,000, from the University Council for Educational Administration, Inc., to support the development of a Community Learning Exchange designed to share educational empowerment stories that shift school success narratives from themes of individualism and meritocracy to stories of collective success that seek to dismantle structural inequities.
  • Jennifer Elliott, associate professor of pharmacy practice, School of Pharmacy, $70,000, from The Heinz Endowments, to help expand the school and community-based asthma initiatives in Hazelwood, Pa., and to examine other health-related needs and existing barriers to care for residents throughout the community.
