Diane Smith to Discuss ‘Salt in My Soul’ at Final Liebermann Lenten Luncheon

Faculty and staff are invited to hear Diane Shader Smith speak at Spiritan Campus Ministry’s final Libermann Lenten luncheon about her late daughter, Mallory, who was determined to live a meaningful and happy life despite her struggle with cystic fibrosis.

Shader Smith will share stories and excerpts from her book, Salt in My Soul: An Unfinished Life, on Monday, April 15, at noon in the Africa Room. The book is based on 2,500 pages of journal entries and instructions by Mallory, who began writing the journals at 15 and passed away in 2017 at age 25 following complications from a double lung transplant.

Mallory left the journals for her mother to publish posthumously. Salt in My Soul touches on a short life well-lived and a call for others to embrace life as fully as possible.

A book signing will immediately follow the luncheon.
