Employee Volunteers Needed for FAST Lab

University employees are needed to volunteer at the 2019 Freshman Advisement Summer Transition (FAST) Lab.

The FAST program is scheduled from Tuesday, July 9, through Friday, July 12. The

FAST Lab will be held these dates from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on the fourth floor of Gumberg Library. Food will be provided for volunteers starting at 11 a.m.

Volunteers will help new students and their families navigate several areas such as:

Financial aid
The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
Student accounts/authorized payer
Student work study positions
Textbook lists.

To volunteer, sign up for one of the following volunteer training sessions via MyLEAD:

Monday, July 8, 9:30-11 a.m.
Monday, July 8, 2-3:30 p.m.

“The work we do in the FAST Lab is essential in helping students and their families feel welcome and prepared as they embark upon the start of their academic careers here at Duquesne University,” Mark Beck, assistant registrar, said. “We could not provide this excellent service to our new students and their families without the efforts of our volunteers.”
