Grants Received

Funds totaling $652,144 were recently received by the Small Business Development Center (SBDC), the School of Pharmacy and the Bayer School of Natural and Environmental Sciences (BSNES).

  • SBDC, $245,118, from the Small Business Administration passed through Kutztown University of Pennsylvania, for public service. Dr. Mary McKinney, director of the SBDC, will administer the award.
  • SBDC, $231,187, from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development passed through Kutztown University of Pennsylvania, for the Southwestern Region PREP program. Dr. Mary McKinney, director of the SBDC, will administer the award.
  • SBDC, $19,784, from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development passed through Kutztown University of Pennsylvania, for the Northwestern Region PREP program. Dr. Mary McKinney, director of the SBDC, will administer the award.
  • Jennifer Elliott and Suzanne Higginbotham, School of Pharmacy, $96,287, from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention passed through the Allegheny County Health Department, for Live Well Allegheny: Lifting Wellness for African Americans in Allegheny County.
  • Rehana Leak, associate professor, School of Pharmacy, $13,768, from the National Institutes of Health passed through the University of Pittsburgh, for Dopamine System Focused Neurorehabilitation Model for Improving Neurorecovery Among Cardiac Arrest Survivors.
  • Angel Tamez, a student of Chemistry Professor Dr. Jefferey Evanseck, BSNES, a $46,000 National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship grant, to help ensure the vitality and diversity of the scientific and engineering workforce of the United States. The program recognizes and supports outstanding graduate students who are pursuing full-time research-based master’s and doctoral degrees in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
