Celebrate Traditions and Perspectives During Africa Week 2019

The Duquesne community is invited to learn more about African traditions and perspectives during the annual Africa Week festivities.

Sponsored by the Center for African Studies, the celebration features social activities, lectures and performances.

The schedule of events is as follows:

Tuesday, Sept. 17
Exploring Africa-China Relations on Trade and Healthcare
Africa Room, Union, 12:15-1:45 p.m.
Buffet lunch will be provided.

Wednesday, Sept. 18
African Marketplace
Academic Walk, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
A variety of African-themed goods and live music will be featured.

Wednesday, Sept. 18
Movie Night: Featuring “Wedding Party”
NiteSpot, Union, 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Presented by the Union of African Students. Snacks will be provided.

Thursday, Sept. 19
Showcase Afrique
Africa Room, Union, 6-8 p.m.
Hosted by the Union of African Students. Food will be provided.
