Nursing School Hosts 6th Annual White Coat Ceremony

Hundreds of friends and family members were in attendance to honor sophomore nursing students at the School of Nursing’s sixth annual White Coat Ceremony on Sept. 6.

Approximately 184 students participated in the ceremony, which marks the beginning of the professional phase of their nursing career.

School of nursing alumna Julia Curran, a staff nurse at UPMC Passavant Hospital, delivered the keynote speech at the ceremony. Students then donned their white coats and recited the Modern Nightingale Pledge of Professionalism.
