Fall 2019 Professional Training Sessions Available

Registration is now open for all Duquesne employees for the fall 2019 Training Pathways to Professional Success program. Employees can customize their path and take only the classes they need, or they can set a path to complete all trainings.

Employees can sign into duq.edu/dori then go to duq.edu/pathways for a detailed training list and more information on this fall’s trainings, all of which take place in room 608 of Libermann Hall. Trainings include:

  • Thursday, Sept. 26, 9 to 10:30 a.m., Pathway to Resolving Conflict Without Blame (red only)
  • Wednesday, Oct. 2, 9 to 10:30 a.m., FMLA, Management of Short-Term and Long-Term Disability, Workers Compensation & Staff Absenteeism (blue only)
  • Thursday, Oct. 3, 9:30 to 11 a.m., Employment and Payroll (blue only)
  • Tuesday, Oct. 8, 9:30 to 11 a.m., Position Descriptions—Who Needs Them? We All Do! (blue only)
  • Wednesday, Oct. 9, 9:30 to 11 a.m., Pathway to Delivering Great Customer Service (red only).

A new Maximizing Team Performance training is available this year for supervisors and managers. The workshop will be held Wednesday, Nov. 20, 9 to 11 a.m. with objectives to include:

  • Taking a Team Performance Inventory (TPI) assessment prior to the session
  • Discussing the assessment and learning a team’s strengths and growth opportunities
  • Obtaining new tips for managing a team
  • Learning through exercises and discussion.

Blue pathway (blue only) training is for supervisors and managers, and red pathway (red only) training is for administrative support staff and non-managers. Combined trainings for both pathways also are indicated. Most trainings are free, but a $25 fee applies for all Microsoft trainings.
