The symposium, Healing the Whole: How Integrative Medicine Can Solve Global Health Issues, explored major health trends, including:

  • The opioid crisis and chronic pain
  • New innovations regarding cancer treatment
  • The groundbreaking use of biomarkers to predict autism and Alzheimer’s disease
  • Ways to close the gap on health inequities for marginalized populations.

The summit also included sessions focusing on children and family health issues, such as the anti-vaccine movement, integrative techniques to serve marginalized populations—including sexual assault victims and those dealing with violence-related trauma—and the role of the arts in medicine.
