Registration Open for Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day Luncheon

The University community is invited to attend the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day luncheon Friday, Jan. 17, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Africa Room.

Keynote speaker Dr. Alvin Tillery will discuss courageous leadership, communicating a sense of purpose and the need to display equanimity and empathy in today’s society. Tillery is an associate professor and director of the Center for the Study of Diversity and Democracy at Northwestern University.

“As we celebrate Martin Luther King’s life and legacy, we’re thrilled to welcome Dr. Tillery to campus,” said Jeff Mallory, assistant vice president for diversity, inclusion and student advancement. “His expertise and insight underscore King’s work and serve as a reminder that we all can and should do more to advance respect, understanding, compassion and tolerance.”
